The Primary Election is an election to determine which candidates will qualify for the General Election for a given party. In Iowa you must be a member of the political party of which you wish to vote for in order to participate. This is known as a "closed primary." The primary election is held on the 1st Tuesday following the 1st Monday in June of each even-numbered year.
You'll need to print the absentee request form, fill it out, and deliver the form to your County Auditor, Michelle Dooley, or mail it to PO Box 435, Corydon, IA 50060.

March 7 – March 25, 2022 @ 5PM.
County Partisan Offices being voted on:
County Attorney
Two (2) Board of Supervisors At-Large
County Recorder
County Treasurer
Number of Signatures required on Nomination Petition for the Primary
Republican Candidate at least 47 signatures.
Democrat Candidate at least 15 signatures.
Number of Signatures required on Nomination Petition for Partisan Office
By individuals of Non-Party Political Organization (NPPO) or Not Affiliated with any political party requires at least 50 signatures.
County Non-Partisan Offices being voted on during the General Election is
1 Township Clerk and 2 Township Trustees for each Township
Individuals who want to be a candidate for those offices must file only an affidavit of candidacy form during this filing period.
Other Non-Partisan County Offices
Filing Period for all other non-partisan offices in the county have no Start date to begin filing, but the deadline to file is Wednesday, August 31, 2022 @ 5p.m.
County Public Hospital Trustee requires at least 50 signatures.
Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner requires at least 25 signatures.
County Agricultural Extension requires at least 25 signatures
